How We do it
Our priming and painting process is proprietary, but we have arrived at this multi-step process through rigorous testing. Adhesion and toughness has been the goal throughout. CCW has become known for clean and simple paintjobs that look alive and catch fish. The final step is a tough coat of clear epoxy.
BEFORE WE PAINT
We go to great lengths to ensure that each plug body is duplicated perfectly; with no sharp edges and everything consistent. Lips slots, hook holes and thru-holes are all painstakingly centered. From there we seal the wood--inside and out--with epoxy. This not only ensures that no water will absorb into the wood, but it also provides an ironclad base to paint on. From there, everything is carefully sanded to provide the best adhesion, all dust is removed and the bodies are inspected for blemishes.
After the clear has cured, we assemble the plugs using the best components available. We have our own lips made to an exact standard, we use the highest quality, stainless swivels and permasteel hooks. A clean, high quality plug is the result and we guarantee satisfaction--when you fish a CCW Plug you can be sure that it's going to do what we say it will.
